HR Strategies for Enhancing Team Cohesion and Communication in Remote Work Environments
摘要
COVID-19 has forced many companies to adopt remote work at a more rapid pace than ever before, and keeping a team connected and communicating is no small feat. The absence of random interaction and face-to-face mingling that happens naturally in traditional office settings makes remote environments less conducive to social connection and flowing collaboration. The purpose of this study is to examine some specific HR strategies that can be used to improve team engagement and communication when working remotely. It notes the implementation of specific human resources practices such as digital communication tools, scaffolded virtual team-building exercises, and policies to alleviate isolation concerns for remote workers. This paper draws together a thorough review of existing literature and real-world frameworks to suggest the challenges faced by most HR professionals and the viable solutions available to support remote teams. The study concludes that specific HR strategies reducing isolation and miscommunication common in WFH situations can enhance team productivity and employee satisfaction. This paper adds to the literature on remote work management, identifying key issues for HR professionals, organizational leaders, and policy-makers in achieving a connected and collaborative remote labour force.
