With his conjecture, Sarnak discovered in 2010 a deep connection between ergodic theory and number theory concerning the behavior of the prime numbers. This conjecture has initiated extensive research in both fields and has become a very active and dynamic area. We give here a flavor of Sarnak’s conjecture and briefly mention some of the recent developments.
