The article presents the results of the nonwoven fabric production process, specifically Spunlace, with particular emphasis on the carding process of the fibre blend and the final strength of the resulting nonwoven fabric. In the production test, conducted on an actual production line, two different types of carding machines were used to produce nonwoven fabric under identical production parameters. The nonwoven produced was subjected to microscopic examinations of its structure in terms of fibre bonding methods and strength tests. It was observed that differences in the design of the carding machines tested affect the final strength of the nonwoven fabric. The tested carding machines differed mainly in the arrangement of the drums between the two main cylinders, which is discussed in this article.
