The Authors evaluate the increase in prosthetic interventions in relation to the increase in PJI. They take into consideration most of the actions that can negatively interfere in the management of a joint prosthesis, trying to ensure that negative factors are not created in the onset of a PJI The risk factors of the patient in general and the local risk factors are taken into consideration. They divide the analysis into three periods: For each of these periods they evaluate according a very in-depth research into the interference of behaviors or actions that can create a PJI. Therefore, the watchword is prevention. All the measures useful for avoiding a PJI are then taken into consideration, such as coatings, antibiotic-treated cements, and donor bone with the addition of antibiotics. In the end one of the most negative elements in dealing with this pathology is highlighted, which is resistance to antibiotics, concluding that sometimes we are faced with a tubercular form which must always be taken into consideration
