The Data Governance: A Comprehensive Literature Review from Professional Viewpoints
摘要
Data governance is essential to ensure data security, privacy, safety, and compliance with internal and external data policies. It facilitates rules allowing more access to data to be created and enforced, ensuring security and privacy from the data controls. Effective data governance may be necessary to address data inconsistencies across different systems within a company. Inadequate data governance may also impede efforts to comply with regulations. This could cause problems for companies that have to follow the increasing number of data privacy and protection laws, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). An enterprise data governance effort often includes the creation of common data standards and standard data formats that are applied to all business platforms. Its primary goals are to achieve prioritized business objectives and maximize the value of the data that is stored throughout the organization. This enhances data consistency for commercial reasons and aids in complying with regulatory standards. For the current research, a thorough literature review was conducted to verify the coverage of data governance abilities. It is helpful to provide a comprehensive understanding of data governance so that companies have pertinent policies to follow.
