Laparoscopic Appendicectomy
摘要
The closed-cavity approach of laparoscopic appendicectomy is associated with a lower incidence of wound infection and postoperative morbidity, shorter hospital stays, and better quality of life compared to the traditional open approach. The key surgical steps in laparoscopic appendicectomy comprise peritoneal access, port placements, securing the mesoappendix, and appendiceal stump closure. Standardized protocols and perioperative care ensure consistent outcomes with reduced complication rates. This commonly performed operation is an ideal start procedure for trainee surgeons to learn basic therapeutic laparoscopic skills.
