Nowadays, national statistical institutes and international organizations mostly rely on their institutional websites as the primary channel for disseminating data. This can be accomplished by providing downloadable data tables in a designated website section or through more sophisticated methods, such as utilizing specialized software dissemination systems. However, many of these solutions are built with proprietary technologies, which can stray from the open-source approach that supports more sustainable solutions - especially in international cooperation projects involving countries in the Global South. A cooperation project funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and jointly implemented by Istat and the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) provided the opportunity to implement a more flexible approach, by emphasizing the importance of managing the entire dissemination process simply, effectively and using innovative tools. The project aimed to make the best use of existing resources and expertise without overhauling the technological infrastructure.
