Measuring Equality and Non-discrimination: New International Perspectives and Tools with Istat’s Contribution
摘要
The need for more and better data on non-discrimination and equality is highlighted by the United Nations and the European Commission. Improving the data collections and use of equality data is required to inform policies and assess their consistency. Making the invisible visible is a goal not only for the advanced societies. Developing harmonized new tools and methodologies and investing in equality data collection is a must in time of economic, war and social crisis. In this paper, we will focus on the new international initiatives, considering the work carried out by the EC Subgroup on Equality data and UN Praia Group as well as the involvement and the contribution of Istat within these scopes.
