Digital education can play a significant role in promoting the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and empowering students to become responsible global citizens. Higher Education Institutions have a fundamental role in the formation of students and can enhance their thinking towards the development of sustainability. The objective of this study is to analyze the pedagogical practices of digital teaching that promote Sustainable Development Goals. For this purpose, a literature review and survey of a Higher Education Institutions’ managers, teachers and students was carried out comprising questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The results of this study demonstrate that the topic of sustainability needs to be intensified within the academic community through the curricular content, research and extended studies, especially to distance learning students. This observed holistic and inclusive approach to sustainability and digital education is a unique and valuable contribution of this study.
