Sustainable Management Models and Tools: Analytical Hierarchical Method (AHP) as a Sustainability Measurement Tool: A Bibliometric Analysis

The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) has emerged as a powerful approach for tackling intricate decisions that require a delicate balance between mathematical precision and insights from psychology. However, its application in sustainability measurement remains relatively understudied. To shed light on this aspect, this study utilizes bibliometric analysis to portray the publication trends in AHP as a Sustainability Measurement Tool. Leveraging the vast resources of the Web of Science database and employing the biblioshiny package in R software, a total of 1985 English-language articles from 1979 to May 2024 were comprehensively analyzed. The findings reveal a consistent increase in publications over time, diversified trending topics, and the emergence of complex themes after 2020. Noteworthy contributions from countries like China, India, and Spain underscore the global interest in AHP-based sustainability research. The identification of high-frequency keywords and emerging themes offers valuable insights for academics and businesses, encouraging further exploration and optimization of AHP’s potential in addressing critical sustainability challenges worldwide.
