Coaching Methods: Reappraisal Under Posttraditional Scientific Magnifying Glass
摘要
This chapter provides the reader with an overview of common and, from the author’s point of view, interesting innovative coaching methods. Readers gain insight into how coaches work and what demands the application of the methods makes to coaches and clients. In my impression, coaches are very interested in learning about new coaching methods or interventions that may be useful in a particular case example or even for their clients in general. However, the variety of methods offered today is so large that it is difficult to track them easily. In this chapter, methods that are practically significant as well as those that seem scientifically promising are selected, described, and discussed. Following the basic idea of posttraditional coaching, all methods are critically analyzed and reflected with the magnifying glass of science (including my favorites). In particular, suggestions for future scientific evaluations are made for intervention methods for which scientific studies are lacking.
