Different Types of Coaching
摘要
Coaching is developing and specializing in an increasing number of target groups and themes. In the following short descriptions, the most common types of coaching today are listed with short descriptions. The presentation begins with the basic forms of individual and team coaching. This is followed by the classic operational field of application, for which the terms “business coaching” and “executive coaching” have also been established. The main target group here is apparently still the executives, and their coaching is also called leadership coaching. Companies increasingly employ international and intercultural staff. This has led to increased demand and specialization in “intercultural coaching.” Life coaching, which involves coaching to promote general well-being inside and outside the professional working world, has become increasingly popular. Moreover, “health coaching” occupies a space with overlap with life coaching in terms of its relationship to work–life balance. Another field that partly overlaps with life coaching and has developed enormously is “career coaching.” It embraces comprehensive reflections and support for clients in their transitions of professional and private lives. Finally, in this chapter, notes on self-coaching, e-coaching, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) systems in coaching conclude with a description of the variety of methods. Special challenges are foreseeable as a result of the digitalization of work and everyday life and the fundamental changes to be expected through the use of AI, which will be treated in detail in the concluding Chap. of this book.
