The Contribution of Dynamic Capabilities to the Innovation Process in Different Types of Organizations
摘要
This study examined the role of dynamic capabilities in the innovation process across different types of organizations. Dynamic capabilities refer to an organization’s ability to adapt and transform effectively in response to changes in the external environment. The Front End of Innovation (FEI), which is the initial phase of the innovation process, is considered crucial for setting the direction for the development of new products or services. Additionally, it became evident that a supportive organizational culture is essential for fostering innovation throughout this process. Adopting an exploratory approach, semi-structured interviews were conducted with leaders from innovative organizations across various sectors and sizes. The results highlighted the critical importance of dynamic capabilities during the FEI. These findings provide valuable insights for both innovation management theory and practice, underscoring the need for adaptive strategies that take into account the specific characteristics of each organization, as well as the importance of fostering an innovation-oriented organizational culture.
