Building a Beowulf Clusters for ANSYS Simulation
摘要
The Aerodynamics of Structures Group of the Civil Engineering Faculty of CUJAE uses ANSYS software to perform studies of wind interaction with structures using Computational Fluid Dynamics techniques. The personal computers in the laboratory cannot perform complex simulations. The present work presents the implementation of a Beowulf-type HPC cluster infrastructure. This infrastructure uses the personal computers available in the laboratory. In this way, the combined power of all the computers can be fully utilized. Open-source technologies such as OpenMPI and Ubuntu are used. The solution is validated by running complex simulations and statistical tests. It is demonstrated that the commodity hardware can provide low-cost HPC clusters for ANSYS simulations.
