Food Literacy in Curriculum Across South Asia
摘要
This chapter provides an overview and analysis of curriculum documents relevant to food literacy from various South Asian countries, including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The chapter presents them as individual case studies, an approach that is popularly utilized in the literature for conducting a comparative analysis of food literacy curricula across multiple countries. The case studies utilize the approach of document analysis and frame analysis to identify and evaluate the status of food literacy across curriculum documents of South Asian countries. For the purpose of this study, curriculum documents, more specifically subject textbooks from across a range of disciplines, including Environmental Studies (EVS), Health and Physical Education, Languages, Science, and Social Science between classes III and VIII, are utilized.
