A Test Method for Textile Reinforced Cementitious Composites

This study introduced a tensile test setup for textile reinforced cementitious composites (TRCCs). The experimental parameters of current test setups were evaluated, providing the conditions to develop a new test setup. A test setup with a dog-bone specimen and two types including hinged and bolted clamping grips was designed for TRCCs. Tensile behavior of carbon TRCCs (CTRCCs) and glass TRCCs (GTRCCs) were also evaluated. Stress versus strain curves of GTRCCs were illustrated by a trilinear behavior consisting of initial elastic, crack-formation, and crack-widening stages, and those of CTRCCs were illustrated by a bilinear tensile one consisting of initial elastic and post-failure stages. Test setup using hinged grip was suggested for TRCCs using textiles with sufficient bond whereas test setup using bolted-clamping grip was suggested for TRCCs using textiles with insufficient bond within mortar matrix.
