Implementing Positive Behavior Support in Early Childhood Settings
摘要
The chapter describes the application of Positive Behavior Support in the diverse settings that serve young children through the implementation of the Pyramid Model framework. The Pyramid Model provides a multi-tiered framework of practices to promote the social-emotional development of all children, prevent the development of problem behavior, and intervene with children who have persistent challenging behavior. The chapter details strategies for program-wide implementation, including leadership teaming, staff buy-in, family engagement, professional development, and data-informed decision-making. The authors present research findings of the effectiveness of the implementation of the Pyramid Model and describe future directions for scaling and sustaining equitable implementation across early childhood settings.
