Science, Values, Systems, and Data: The Historical Foundations of PBS and PBIS
摘要
Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is the use of empirically validated educational, social, environmental, medical, and organizational strategies to enhance quality of life, and minimize problem behavior. Over the past three decades PBS has matured in procedural sophistication and proliferated across school, work, home and community contexts. In this chapter we review the core features of PBS and provide a brief history of the forces that guided the emergence of PBS. We celebrate the impact of PBS to date but offer suggestions for key needs and opportunities that will guide the future.
