Introduction
摘要
This chapter introduces the core principles of supportive therapy, positioning it within the broader landscape of psychotherapeutic approaches. It outlines the key features that distinguish supportive therapy from other modalities. A working definition is provided to clarify its scope, followed by a clinical example that illustrates how supportive interventions operate in practice. By framing supportive therapy within the continuum of therapeutic techniques, this chapter highlights its value in meeting the needs of patients who may not be suited for interpretative or insight-oriented treatments.
