This study examines the impact of the Italian School-to-Work Programme (SWP) – Percorsi per le Competenze Trasversali e per l’Orientamento (PCTO) – on students’ relational and orientation skills. Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) on a sample of 3,177 11th-grade students, the research explores how socio-demographic characteristics, self-efficacy, and perceptions of SWP utility influence skill development. Key findings show a strong positive association between students’ perceptions of SWP utility and the enhancement of relational and orientation skills. Perceptions of utility were also positively linked to work-related self-efficacy. Students with lower socio-economic status (ESCS) attributed greater utility to the SWP, while female students reported lower perception.

摘要
