We study the association between income, lifestyles and subjective well-being in Italy, using the 2022 edition of the European Survey on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC). In particular, we use ordered probit regressions to evaluate the association between equivalised disposable income and both reported satisfaction in several life domains (overall life, financial situation, time use, personal relationships) and emotional well-being. We control for a full set of individual characteristics and for many lifestyle risk factors (body mass index, smoking, alcohol consumption, healthy diet, physical activity and social contacts). We find a strong but differentiated impact of income and we document also a distinct and large impact of many lifestyles on our well-being measures.

摘要
