Methods of Characterization of Carbon Based Low Friction Coatings After Tribological Testing
摘要
The chapter presents a range of research methods used in the surface examination of carbon coatings after tribological testing. The fundamental investigation techniques and apparatus employed in the post-mortem analysis of the profile, chemical structure and composition of wear tracks and wear scars on cooperating surfaces are presented. The general approach, data treatment and examples of results presentation are given. Some advantages and disadvantages of particular testing methods are discussed.
