This research endeavors to comprehensively examine the most recent scholarly contributions of implementing Industry 4.0 technologies within supply chain management and strategies aimed at emissions reduction with the objective of achieving net-zero emissions. We used the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) method to systematically identify scholarly articles addressing Industry 4.0 technologies and emissions reduction methodologies for attaining net-zero objectives within supply chains. This investigation meticulously reviews existing literature, encompassing 65 articles thoroughly analysed, synthesized, and categorized across various dimensions (i.e., Industry 4.0 technologies, emission reduction strategies, type of industry, objectives, research methodologies, and key findings). The analysis identified 13 distinct technologies associated with Industry 4.0 and 13 corresponding strategies for emissions reduction, delineated by their fundamental characteristics. Furthermore, it investigates the industry 4.0 technologies and emission reduction practices (ERPs) deemed essential for realizing a net-zero supply chain. The study also elucidates these technologies’ potential to mitigate resource consumption, energy utilization, and emissions of carbon or greenhouse gases. Subsequently, it examines the advantages and challenges associated with the concurrent adoption of I4.0 technologies and practices to achieve net-zero objectives at the organizational level. This investigation provides a simultaneous evaluation of various practices for emissions reduction in the supply chain alongside Industry 4.0, thus offering an in-depth analysis of two distinct yet interrelated approaches.

摘要
