An effective and interoperable smart city platform (SCP) can break the vertical information silos and build a digital foundation where communication and information sharing between different IoT platforms are possible. Recommendations ITU-T Y.4200 and Y.4201 are international standards mainly developed by Chinese experts from ITU-T SG20 to support city stakeholders in developing an open and interoperable SCP. Y.4201 provides a set of high-level requirements defining the functionalities and interfaces of an SCP while Y.4200 specifies the interoperability requirements of each function and interface in Y.4201. This chapter introduced the development process and main content of them.
