Smashing clichés and breaking intellectual mental formats are crucial for fostering creativity. One significant barrier to creativity is the reliance on mental frameworks or templates that limit thinking to conventional patterns. These templates often involve false assumptions or constraints that the mind becomes accustomed to, making it challenging to think beyond them. Despite involving a diverse group of over 1,000 individuals including teachers, instructors, administrators, writers, and university professors none could initially solve the problem. Only after being given a hint that they could cross lines through points did 2 out of more than 1,000 people succeed.
