Women contributed to artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainability by making it possible for women to learn science professionally and contributing to the development of computers and the internet. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, they included science popularizers Jane Haldimand Marcet and Mary Fairfax Somerville; science writer and educator Almira Hart Lincoln Phelps; and computer software pioneer Ada Byron Lovelace. In the twentieth century, computer pioneers included Betty Holberton, Jean Sammet, Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, and Anita Borg, among others. Women, including Joy Buolomwini, continue to contribute to innovations in computers and artificial intelligence in the twenty-first century. AI could not have been developed without each of their seminal contributions.

摘要
