The Chronometry Collection of the Palermo Astronomical Observatory
摘要
The Palermo Astronomical Observatory was founded in 1790 and was equipped with the best astronomical clocks made in England and in France. Its equipment changed over the years, of course, including excellent 19th- and 20th-century pendulums and chronographs. Today these instruments, after restoration, are on display at the Museo della Specola and form a unique collection, showing the evolution of the typical standard timekeeping equipment of an astronomical observatory.
