The Spring Revolution in Myanmar represents a pivotal struggle for democracy, justice, and human rights, with young people holding leading roles within the civil disobedience movement. Despite facing violent repression, arrests, and even death, Myanmar’s youth continue to mobilize, demonstrating remarkable resilience and commitment to systemic change. However, the absence of internal protections leaves them vulnerable. Young people have utilized digital platforms and social media to document human rights violations, educate global audiences, and coordinate resistance efforts. The Myanmar diaspora in particular has played a crucial role in amplifying the civil disobedience movement beyond national borders, engaging in transnational advocacy, and connecting local movements with international networks. Strengthening international support and protective policies is essential in sustaining the civil disobedience movement and advancing the broader fight for democracy and human rights in Myanmar.
