Moldova’s Youth in Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding Processes
摘要
This chapter explores the barriers to meaningful youth participation in Moldova’s peacebuilding, focusing on the divide between the Moldovan and Transnistrian youth. This study examines the challenges young people face in both regions and highlights their efforts in fostering dialogue, trust-building, and reconciliation. The analysis reveals that while youth organizations actively address social issues, such as hate speech and multiculturalism, their contributions to structured peacebuilding processes, such as conflict prevention and cross-river dialogue, remain limited. The chapter identifies key barriers, which hinder youth engagement. Ultimately, the chapter calls for a comprehensive approach that recognizes the critical role of youth as drivers of sustainable peace in Moldova.
