Conformance Beyond Compliance: Characteristics, Change, and Control
摘要
This chapter seeks to examine the recent shift and trend in corporate behavior from legal compliance to broader social conformance within a global regulatory context. It clarifies the distinction between compliance (legal license) and conformance (social license), introduces key terms, and reviews literature on bottom-up change and executive resistance. The chapter also explores how change management and knowledge sharing support conformance, providing a theoretical framework for the case studies of corporate misconduct analyzed in the following chapters.
