A Qualitative Investigation on Intrafamily Succession and Transgenerational Growth in Family Firms: Methodology and Data Collection
摘要
This chapter will present the methodology used in the research, focusing on the qualitative approach adopted for data collection and analysis. The chapter begins with an introduction to qualitative analysis in family business, explaining why this method is particularly suited to exploring the complex and nuanced dynamics of family business succession. We then describe the sampling strategy and selection criteria for the companies included in the study. This section will detail the rationale behind choosing specific firms and discuss the challenges of collecting data from family businesses, which are often private and sensitive about internal matters. Next, the chapter will outline data collection, including sampling and the process of conducting interviews. This will be followed by a discussion of the data analysis techniques employed, such as coding and the use of Gioia methodology.
