The modern educational system is characterized by a variety of formats and approaches to learning. This is largely determined by the use of information technologies, allowing to organize the provision of educational materials and assessment of knowledge in an automated mode. This paper examines the influence of the learning format on student engagement. In this research, the engagement of students in the three groups of traditional, online, and blended learning was analyzed using the Kraskell-Wallis test. This is a non-parametric test that allows comparison of small size samples and does not require the data to be normally distributed. The results of applying the Kraskell-Wallis test demonstrated that there were significant differences in the engagement of the students in the three groups. Students who studied traditionally showed the highest engagement. In contrast, online students demonstrated the lowest engagement. The paper describes possible reasons behind these levels of engagement. The results can be useful for organizing the educational process and setting up conditions for enhancing student engagement when using digital learning facilities.
