Single-phase circuits are widely used to power homes and small businesses. They are simple, reliable, and cost-effective for delivering power to lighting, appliances, and other low-power devices. While not suitable for heavy industrial applications, single-phase circuits remain essential for powering the majority of everyday electrical devices we use. This chapter explores single-phase circuits through a variety of examples.
