Plebeian Radicalism: 1784–1788
摘要
Of all the themes of radicalism explored in this book, plebeian-Foxite radicalism is among the most significant for understanding the Foxite’s electoral success. The radical nature of the Foxites’ engagement with the lower orders of Westminster was evident in their reliance on, socialising with, and canvassing alongside the lower orders, marking a notable break from electoral tradition (For ‘radical’ definition see Waite (ed.), Oxford English Dictionary, p. 594).
