In this chapter, we summarize the key theoretical and practice “take-home” points of our book on the Good Lives Model. We stress that therapy is not a mechanical, one-size-fits-all process. It is fundamentally a human relationship in which clinicians help their clients find a viable way of living well within the constraints of human obligations and entitlements. GLM-inspired crime management policies focus on providing opportunities that enable people to build a good life, rather than merely ensuring the avoidance of criminal behavior.

摘要

In this chapter, we summarize the key theoretical and practice “take-home” points of our book on the Good Lives Model. We stress that therapy is not a mechanical, one-size-fits-all process. It is fundamentally a human relationship in which clinicians help their clients find a viable way of living well within the constraints of human obligations and entitlements. GLM-inspired crime management policies focus on providing opportunities that enable people to build a good life, rather than merely ensuring the avoidance of criminal behavior.
