GeoglyphsGeoglyph are large designs or motifs created on the ground by manipulating stones, gravel, or earth. There are many examples from around the world, and in this section we show some from Arabia, southern EnglandEngland, PeruPeru and ChileChile, KazakhstanKazakhstan, and the USAUSA. The reasons for producing geoglyphs are multiple, and sometimes far from clear. Some may have been for herding and capturing animals, some may have had ritual significance, and some may have been boundary and route markers.
