The Effects of Marine White Pollution on Higher Animals, Plants, and the Food Chain

Marine white pollution, also known as marine plastic pollution, presents a substantial danger to ecosystems on a global scale, affecting higher organisms, plants, and the entire food web. Marine pollution refers to the buildup of plastic waste in aquatic habitats, such as oceans, seas, and coastal regions. This can lead to obstructions in the gastrointestinal tract, malnourishment, and finally fatality. In addition, animals may become ensnared in plastic waste, which can hinder their mobility, feeding, and reproductive capabilities, so further jeopardising their survival. Furthermore, the presence of plastic trash in marine habitats can affect the behavior and distribution of species, leading to alterations in predator-prey dynamics and competition for resources. This can disturb the functioning of marine ecosystems and undermine their ability to offer essential ecosystem services, such as fisheries production and carbon sequestration. Marine white pollution has large and extensive repercussions on higher animals, vegetation, and the food chain in marine environments. Urgent and concentrated efforts are needed to ameliorate this rising environmental concern by actions such as lowering plastic production and use, improving waste management procedures, and promoting the use of alternative materials. By tackling marine white pollution, we can maintain the health and integrity of marine ecosystems for present and future generations.
