These mechanical vibrations affect the body segments depending on their location, type of vibration, and pregnancy development. Horizontal vibrations affect the upper part of the body (lower arm, upper arm, head, thorax, torso, cervical spine, and lumbar spine) compared to vertical vibrations. Besides affecting humans, the importance of maintaining the good condition of the training wheelset is to avoid any derailment events that can lead not only to damageDamage the train due to bad condition of the wheelset. The good condition of the train wheels ensures that the train can operate efficiently, provide good ride comfort to passengers, and runs smoothly. There are many factors to consider when assessing the condition of the wheelset, such as the number and size of teeth on the wheel, whether the wheel is properly aligned, and whether there are any visible cracks or defectsDefects. If any of these conditions are present, it could lead to the train wheels becoming inoperable and potentially causing an accident. In terms of ergonomics, a bad condition of the wheelset can also lead to discomfort for passengers as well as impairing the overall performance of the train. This paper reviewed the existing diagnostics techniques using various types of sensors such as strainStrain, acousticAcoustic, accelerometerAccelerometer, etc., with various setups at the wayside, the bogie, and the platform. In terms of the analyses, several different types of software usage have also been introduced, and every outcome uniquely identified the wheel condition.
