This chapter concludes the book by revisiting the key findings and highlighting their empirical and theoretical contributions, focusing on the decolonial approach to addressing family violence within communities affected by colonialism, conflict, and displacement. It underscores the importance of decoloniality in reshaping legal interventions for communities like the South Sudanese Australian population, who face intersecting experiences of violence, both during and after settlement. The chapter examines the methodological and ethical contributions of decolonial methods in family violence intervention and prevention, emphasising their relevance for African Australian communities and other similarly affected groups. By advocating for a decolonial approach, this chapter argues that such frameworks provide a more effective and culturally sensitive method for addressing the limitations of current legal interventions, offering pathways for sustainable change in the context of family violence.
