Small-incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) has become an established procedure for the correction of myopia. Postoperative complications after SMILE are rare and with management very similar to that after a LASIK procedure. In this chapter, we describe and discuss the management of the following interface complications: debris, haze, diffuse lamellar keratitis (DLK), pressure-induced interlamellar stromal keratitis (PISK), and infection after SMILE. Interface complications should be monitored very closely after SMILE to enable early intervention and to avoid adverse visual sequelae.

摘要

Small-incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) has become an established procedure for the correction of myopia. Postoperative complications after SMILE are rare and with management very similar to that after a LASIK procedure. In this chapter, we describe and discuss the management of the following interface complications: debris, haze, diffuse lamellar keratitis (DLK), pressure-induced interlamellar stromal keratitis (PISK), and infection after SMILE. Interface complications should be monitored very closely after SMILE to enable early intervention and to avoid adverse visual sequelae.
