The logistics sector is plagued with inefficiencies in traceability, cost of operation, security threats, and loss of transparency as a result of the deployment of centralised systems and human intervention. This paper outlines how the use of blockchain technology combined with smart contracts and IoT-based real-time tracing increases the effectiveness of logistics. Blockchain provides a decentralised, tamper-evident record book, ensuring that the business of logistics is secure, transparent, and self-governing. Smart contracts remove intermediaries and lower administrative expenses through the automation of payment settlement, document authentication, and regulatory approval. Findings indicate that 35–45% of the operational efficiency improvements, logistics costs decreased by 35–40%, and security and fraud decreased by 30–40%. Stakeholder transparency and customer confidence also increase over 40%, indicating blockchain’s ability to enhance supply chain efficiency and overall logistics performance. Following the research, this study concludes that blockchain logistics will facilitate security, save costs, and make supply chain management automated and efficient and usher in an era of a trustless, networked, and automated logistics system. The research concludes, as per the findings, that the game-changing potential of blockchain is demonstrated and needs to be adopted by all means and all areas in the logistics business so that the efficiency, security, and reliability increase.

摘要
