Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Educational Assessment: A Bibliometric Analysis
摘要
Artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed several areas, including education, by improving teaching and assessment methodologies. The aim of this study is to investigate the application of AI in educational assessment, analyzing publications from the years 2020 to 2024. Utilizing a bibliometric approach, the VOSviewer tool, and data extracted from the Scopus database, we analyzed 2064 publications. We analyze the number of publications, the explored domains, the leading authors, the most active countries, the types of published documents, and the frequently utilized keywords. The analysis showed a significant evolution in publications over these five years. Computer sciences, social sciences, and medicine are the sectors in which researchers are most productive. The most active authors are Chiu, Thomas K.F., and Su, Jiahong, with eight articles each. The United States and China are the most productive countries in this field. These insights underscore the integral role of AI in enhancing educational assessment methodologies and provide valuable guidance for educators and policymakers.
