This research examines the impact of environmental policies and legislation on the attainment of sustainable development goals. The objective of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of environmental legislation and its contribution to the realization of sustainable development goals, while also addressing the challenges encountered by a country’s environmental policies. An analytical-descriptive methodology was employed to assess the environmental policies and legislation, juxtaposing them with international standards and sustainable development objectives. The findings indicate that existing legislative gaps must be rectified by enhancing policies and improving coordination among governmental institutions to expedite the progress towards achieving sustainable development goals in both environmental and social domains.
