The Impact of Technology on Extending the Duration of Litigation
摘要
This research investigates the influence of technology on the prolongation of legal proceedings. It considers both direct and indirect factors, focusing on how technological tools and systems might lead to delays or inefficiencies within the legal framework. The study underscores the impact of technological advancements on legal processes and their unforeseen effects on the speed and efficacy of case resolutions. The objective of this research is to assess the present condition of legal proceedings, pinpointing significant technological influences and other contributing elements, while also proposing solutions aimed at alleviating delays. A notable finding reveals that although technology has the potential to significantly enhance case management, certain systems and tools may unintentionally extend the duration of proceedings due to technical difficulties, poor implementation, or resistance to change. Among the primary recommendations is the necessity for a thorough evaluation of the technological infrastructures utilized within legal systems, ensuring their optimization for efficiency. Additionally, the study advocates for adequate training of legal professionals on emerging technologies, coupled with ongoing monitoring of system performance, as a means to diminish delays and improve the overall efficiency of legal proceedings.
