Cryptocurrencies, serving as digital money for microeconomic and machine-to-machine (M2M) transactions, are likely to play a pivotal role in the IoT revolution. Several blockchain projects are already targeting the IoT market. However, as technology continues to advance, we can anticipate even greater developments in this space in the near future. Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have emerged as two of the most transformative and innovative technologies in recent years. Blockchain technology facilitates cryptocurrency transactions, such as Bitcoin, while providing security and anonymity in peer-to-peer (P2P) networks, including IoT-like structures. Blockchain decentralizes interactions between participants, removing the need for a trusted intermediary or third party, while AI equips near-human robots with intelligence and decision-making capabilities. This article presents an overview of blockchain-based and AI-based smart technologies that enable the successful convergence of blockchain, AI, and IoT, along with the latest advancements and applications in this domain.
