Future AIoT-Based Green Smart Cities Essential Role in Enhancement of Healthcare Services
摘要
Leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze the vast amounts of data generated by the Internet of Things (IoT) creates new opportunities for designing and managing future smart cities. AI can process large volumes of input data from connected objects, analyze it using specified algorithms, and ultimately provide relevant output to users. In healthcare, for instance, AI combined with IoT offers unique benefits. Previously, patient interactions with doctors were limited to visits, phone calls, and texts without the possibility of continuous health monitoring. With IoT-enabled devices, remote monitoring has become feasible, enhancing patient engagement and consent by streamlining communication with doctors more easily and efficiently. Additionally, remote health monitoring reduces hospital stays and prevents readmissions while significantly lowering healthcare costs and improving treatment outcomes. The IoT is set to revolutionize healthcare by reshaping interactions between patients, devices, and healthcare providers, benefiting patients, families, doctors, hospitals, and insurance companies. This chapter overviews smart cities, defines their key features, and explores IoT architecture. We also include an in-depth analysis of the wireless communication technologies used in smart cities, supported by great analysis to identify the most suitable technologies for specific applications. This chapter also discusses various AI algorithms and their relevance to intelligent applications. Further, IoT and AI (AIoT) integration in healthcare within smart cities is explored. This chapter explores the numerous prospects created by integrating the IoT and AI, emphasizing how this combination can enhance the quality of life for residents in smart cities and facilitate urban expansion. By examining the potential of AI and IoT, along with their combined applications, this chapter offers a valued understanding of the future of healthcare systems and the positive impact these technologies can have on urban environments and the betterment of their people.
