Regional Electrified Logistics System Demonstrator in Sweden - Economic Comparison of Electric - and Diesel-Powered Solutions
摘要
Opportunities and challenges in regional electrified logistics have been demonstrated by an innovative collaborative project with 45 Swedish stakeholders. The system demonstration includes more than 70 battery electric heavy-duty vehicles, and associated charging infrastructure, operating in various types of commercial goods flows. These operations have been analysed from a haulier Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) perspective, whereof four are detailed in this paper; Local distribution, Regional distribution, Line-haul operation, and Drayage operation. The electric options are compared with corresponding diesel driven transports. The results show that the difference in TCO, based on data from year 2023, for the electric and diesel-powered solutions varies from + 6 to –16% when public co-funding of both trucks and charging infrastructure can be obtained. The analysis indicates that the TCO for the diesel-powered solutions are lower than for the corresponding electric solutions in both Local and Regional distribution but with increased mileage the TCO for the electric option can be lower than for the diesel option for the analysed cases.
