Sustainability in Marketing Management: Frameworks for Effective Implementation
摘要
The concept of Sustainability is now classified as one of the most important pillars of modern marketing management thanks to the growing pressures from the stakeholders, who expect companies to behave more responsibly. This study examines the way sustainability can be applied efficiently in marketing through survey method and semi structured interviews with reference to case studies of companies and organizations that have effective and efficient models in sustainability in marketing. From the analysis of responses, the study reveals critical factors of sustainable marketing decision as awareness (4.2) and perceived barriers (3.6) and facilitators like regulations and consumers’ demand (4.1). Awareness is strongly associated with improved implementation (β = 0.45, p < 0.001), while barriers hinder implementation (β = −0.32, p < 0.001). Here, it can be seen that facilitators have a direct significant impact on adoption (Mean = 0.51t < 0.001). Of these effects, sustainable marketing practice has the highest correlation with financial performance (r = 0.37 at p < 0.001) and brand image (r = 0.42 at p < 0.001). In most cases, the facts and benefits of thematic analysis can be best seen in case studies and examples. Hence, this study provides a rich pool of useful knowledge to both academic scholars and practitioners and fills a gap in the existing literature by presenting a conceptual and an operational understanding of how marketers can implement sustainability into their business context.
