Daily production of waste by mankind is calling for new and effective methods for management of waste in order to reduce the burden adverse impact of accumulating of waste on our ecosystem. Innovative remedies and the adoption of modern sustainable techniques for the management and recycling of waste include the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) tools that facilitate efficient and optimized collection, sorting, disposal, and recycling of waste. Using AI, it is possible to predict and analyze the possibilities of waste generation, get computerized vision for sorting of waste, machine learning enabled models may help to optimize recycling process. AI enabled tools like drone, sensors and satellite image analyzers may give a concrete impression about the quantity and quality of waste generated at a particular site at a particular time thereby helping with swift and time effective handling of the waste. AI mediated waste management system could be helpful to identify and distinguish recyclable waste, non-recyclable waste, organic waste and contaminants accurately and quickly. This waste management system can help to prevent human handling of potentially hazardous or dangerous waste material such as e-waste or toxic chemicals thereby, preventing exposure of humans to such hazardous wastes. So now a days, AI is highly beneficial to boost up the waste recycling rate in an easy, efficient, smart and cost-effective way in waste management system.
