Energy consumption is a critical issue that affects countries and communities worldwide. Its efficient use is essential for economic development, environmental preservation, and the well-being of societies. In this scenario, the manufacturing sector stands out as a major consumer of energy. In Brazil, manufacturing industry is the largest consumer of energy. Hence, energy management (EM) should be applied to minimize energy costs and/or reduce energy consumption. Monitoring the system’s consumption of power is the first step towards reducing the consumption of energy. Digital technologies (DTs) can help achieve this monitoring. DTs are triggering a revolution in energy areas and are being used in energy system planning, design, control, and optimization. Energy related problems inherently involve multiple and conflicting criteria, as well as the perceptions of multiple stakeholders. In this context, this paper aims to address the issue of energy management policies in Brazilian companies, proposing a multicriteria group decision making (MCGDM) model for prioritizing DTs for EM. The PROMETHEE-ROC methodological structure was adapted for a group decision context and applied for ranking 14 DTs selected considering the Brazilian context. The model developed seeks to prioritize/select DTs that help achieve greater energy efficiency, thereby improving energy management in Brazilian industries.
